 Jill McGill’s Journey with Melanoma

Jill McGill’s Journey with Melanoma

22nd Sep 2022

Deep Dive:

Jill McGill was diagnosed with Melanoma when she was 18 years old. After multiple treatments, her doctors suggested surgery. Thankfully, the cancer was caught on time and her surgery was a success. Even though the surgery was successful, more than ever, Jill needed to take care of her at-risk skin.

Moving forward, Jill frequented her dermatologist’s office to check her skin on a regular basis. Ever since her original melanoma scare, she has committed to the daily habit of wearing sunscreen to cover all of her exposed areas. However, even with such efforts, she has lived through multiple biopsies, pre-cancerous cell scares, and procedures to remove them.

After such scares, Jill knew she needed to take additional action. Sunscreen and face coverings were helping to protect her exposed areas, but she began to think about the clothes she wore while under the hot sun. That’s where BloqUV comes in. Jill learned about the concept of UPF 50+ clothing and decided to try it out.

After trying her first top from BloqUV, Jill was shocked at how lightweight and comfortable the fabric is. She now claims BloqUV is the best sun protective apparel she has found! In fact, she proved she really thinks it is the best UPF 50+ apparel when she trusted us to win a major title (The US Senior Women’s Open) while wearing her BloqUV 24/7 top!

Jill told us she looks forward to playing more tournaments, staying safe from the sun, and sporting BloqUV!

Skin exams matter, and even though Jill’s story is a happy one, according to the Skin Cancer Foundation, in the U.S., more than 9,500 people are diagnosed with skin cancer every day. Make sure to schedule your yearly screen exam!
